You don’t even need batteries to operate this baby! It runs on an ingenious spring system (that could probably actually really replace nuclear power as an energy source) and pure nostalgia
- Hard plastic spring-loaded “Planet Gun” 4.5″ long
- Three plastic rotors/saucers 3″ diameter
- Illustrated box 7″ x 11″ x 2.25 inch deep
There appear to have been three combinations of colours for the various parts. This is a very sporty black green and red version carrying the wording
- Planet Gun
- Dan Dare name and logo (a circle with a vertical oval inside)
- Inter-Planet Space Fleet
- A Merit Toy
Comes with advice note warning only to use this gun when you are actually in space (which sort of supports my whole fabric ripping hole theory):
Do not fire point blank at any target but fire only into space!
To achieve best results apply a few drops of light oil to the spinner spindle and a touch of Vaseline around the slots on the underside of the spinner hub
