DALEK PLAYSUIT 1965 Doctor Who Berwick Suit Vintage TV SciFi Time Travel 1960s

From the early days of TV SciFi this is an extraordinary toy museum quality complete boxed Red Dalek Playsuit. Created in the trippy 1960s by Berwick in England for the mighty and enduring Doctor Who serial. Designed for children between about seven and fourteen and guaranteed to bring much excitement and extermination into your part of the time-line

Instructions to Assemble The Dalek Playsuit:

• Place the dome and visor over the child’s head resting each strap on the shoulders
• Ensure the White cup with the centre hole is facing forward
• The straps should then be adjusted so that the child can see through the slots in the visor
• Place the skirt over the dome and visor, then pull the skirt down until it fits tightly around the bottom of the visor, making sure the slits in the skirt are to the front
• Now place the tube with the ball attached in hole in the centre cup
• The child then places its hands through the slits in the front of the skirt and holds the “Sucker Cup” and “Blast Gun” as illustrated on the sides of this carton

1970s TV Action and SciFi ViewMaster film reels Vintage VR

Back in the days of old Earth Viewmaster film slide viewers were the high tech Virtual Reality of the day. Slides with incredibly clear colourful images allowed snarling fur covered stone-age kids to see their heroes in stunning three dimensional action. Many contemporary favourites were in the Viewmaster catalogue, not only fishy stories about Flipper or epic neverending wild west adventures with the Cartwrights… but also real life superheroes like Batman and futuristic space shenanigans starring Colonel B B B Buck

The ability to take, produce and view 3 dimensional photo images originated almost a century ago in the 1930s. The first View-Master slides and the “Model A” viewer became commercially available in 1938

View-Master “Model A” was produced between 1938 and 1944 and was very popular with the US Military Forces for mapping and aircraft identification

The classic View-Master we all know and love was the “Model J” (see Batman picture below), it was produced for almost 20 years – 1975 right up to 1994. You can read extensive View-Master history at the 20th Century Stereo Viewers site

MONSTER OLD MAID 1964 Vintage Movie Monsters Horror Card Game 

Very unusual vintage complete MB Monster card game from several lifetimes ago. A classic game for two to six players in excellent condition with original box 

 

Forty large format cards 5.75 inch tall by 3.5 inch wide (14.5 x 9 cm) featuring monsters from famous horror films produced by Universal and other major movie studios. The object of the game is to find MATCHING CARDS and to discard them. The last player holding a card in their hand is “The Old Maid”

 

THE CARDS: There are 39 playing cards in the game. TWO of each number from 1 to 19 with ONE “Old Maid” card (and one card with game rules)

The tray has some minor plastic damage; this is a known issue with these games where the rubber compound of the monster blurg and spider react with the plastic of the tray. The two playing pieces (blurg and spider) are totally undamaged and in excellent condition (but should never be in direct contact with the tray)

The mission is to capture one crystal from each planet… but watch out for the blurg and spider Mr Spock! Fascinating!

Sometimes it’s like living in a blooming Toy Museum when stunning items like this historic Zoo animals set turn up. This example is from the first wave of Britains Zoological Series pre-war issue Zoo sets. The 3Z was one of a series inspired by London’s Regent Park Zoo and shows the rarer patterned paper & colour label of a first issue box.

The models in this series were the first boxed sets ever produced by Britains. This complete hand painted molded lead animal collection was produced between 1930 & 1934 and contains 16 pieces

If you actually wanted to get one of these back in the day you had to buy “Crossroads of Time” game, an envelope & pen, fill in a form, post off a request for the figure and wait up to 21 days for delivery… and not a lot of people ever did that
